DEWITTVILLE- Andre J. Biekert, 51, of Dunkirk and formerly of Dewittville, passed away unexpectedly on July 2, 2020 after a long battle with addiction.

He was born May 19, 1969 in Jamestown, NY, the son of the late Ray and Helen Howe Biekert.

Andre was a 1987 graduate of Mayville Central School.  After graduating he worked primarily as a self-employed contractor, always helping whomever was in need.

He enjoyed reading, going to musicals, being outdoors in nature, hunting, fishing, kayaking, gardening, collecting beach glass and fossils, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Andre is survived by his two daughters; Kali (Jordan) Goodwill of Cassadaga, and Laiken (James) Latimer of Dewittville, four grandchildren; Porter and Spencer Goodwill and Preston and Rowan Latimer, his loving companion; Janelle Piazza of Dunkirk, four siblings; Rachel (Johnnie) Graham (Ray Piche) of Ellery,  Rebecca (Bob) Winchester of Bemus Point, Renee (Jim) Abbott of Falconer, Hans (Joet) Biekert of Jamestown and one aunt: Vera Tallman of Mayville, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and a brother-in-law, Johnnie Graham.

A private funeral will be held at the Freay Funeral Home in Mayville. Deacon Daniel Tyler will officiate. Burial will be in the Dewittville Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5-7PM on Friday, July 10 ^th , at the funeral home. Due to NYS and CDC requirements and COVID 19 restrictions 33 percent of funeral capacity is allowed in the funeral home. Please follow CDC guidelines for social distancing and bring a mask with you.
