CELERON – Arlyne Hanson Gates, 89, of Celoron WE, died Saturday (January 10, 2015) in WCA Hospital in Jamestown.
She was born July 6, 1925 in Stedman, NY the daughter of the late John Hanson and the late Etta Plumadore Hanson Bazinette.
She had worked at MRC/TRW/SKF Bearings in the Falconer Plant retiring after 40 years.
She was a member of the Lakewood Baptist Church and the MRC retirees.
Arlyne loved her home, family and friends.
Arlyne was a dedicated and loyal 40 year employee of MRC/TRW/SKF. A kind, devoted and loving Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. She was a devoted wife and a friend to all who had the honor of knowing her. She was a beautiful and vibrant woman and would want us all to remember her that way.
She is survived by her daughter Leisa Gates of Celoron; a grandson Robbie Olsen and his two sons; and a sister Shirley Wing.
She was preceded in death by her son Jonathan Michael Gates who died May 13, 1952; and her former husband Floyd Gates Jr. whom she married in 1947 and who died in 1991.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday in the Freay Funeral Home in Mayville. Rev. Mark Parsons will officiate. Burial will be in the Chautauqua Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 Thursday at the funeral home, prior to the funeral service.
