Avis J. Hubbard , 79, of Jamestown, and formerly of Gowanda and Woodside, NY, passed away Saturday, December 21, 2019 at the Tanglewood Memory Garden in Jamestown, NY.

She was born June 20, 1940 in Buffalo, NY, the daughter of the late John R. and Mary Dorothy Welch Hubbard.

Avis was a 1958 graduate of Gowanda Central School and the Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School in Boston, MA.

Prior to retirement Avis enjoyed a fulfilling career with Eastman Kodak, working in Rochester, NY, San Francisco, CA, and New York City.

She is survived by two brothers: Alan W. Hubbard of Sun City, AZ, and Brian D. Hubbard of Bemus Point, NY, one niece, four nephews, a sister in law; Pat Hubbard of San Jose, CA and a very dear cousin; Walter (Nancy) Bailey of Birmingham, AL.

In addition to her parents, Avis was preceded in death by her longtime loving companion Vincent Schulze, a brother; John W. Hubbard, and a sister-in-law; Beverly A. Hubbard.

Our family sincerely thank the many, many compassionate professionals who cared for our dear Avis, initially at the Lutheran Hultquist Place, followed by the Tanglewood Memory Garden, assisted by Chautauqua Hospice and Palliative Care.

All services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
