MAYVILLE- Barbara L. Widrig, 71, of Mayville, NY, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born March 26, 1955, in Jamestown, NY, the daughter of the late Delbert and Lucille Widrig.

Barb was a 1973 graduate of Panama Central School. Upon graduation, she attended Jamestown Business College and Jamestown Community College where she received an Associate's in Arts Degree. She worked as a legal secretary for various law firms while she attended Fredonia State University and earned her bachelor's degree. She continued her education at the University of Pittsburgh Law School where she earned the Juris Doctor (JD). She then began her law career in private practice before working for Chautauqua County as an Assistant District Attorney, then worked as an Assistant Social Services Attorney, then was promoted to Social Services Attorney, from which she retired.

Barb had been a member of the Jamestown Bar Association and was a long-time board member for Jamestown Business College. She enjoyed yoga, baking, gardening, boating on Chautauqua Lake, Skiing, rooting for the Cleveland Guardians, and spending time with friends. She was known for being a very inclusive person who would always take time to help people. Barbara never let an occasion pass without reaching out to those she loved. Her thoughtful cards, carefully chosen and filled with warmth, enhanced with her artistic ability, were a beautiful reflection of how deeply she cared for her family and friends.

Barb is survived by her loving husband, David White, a sister, Kate Brown of Winter Springs, FL, two brothers, Ron (Cindy) Widrig of Jamestown, NY, and John (Joanne) Widrig of Blockville, NY, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Eugene, Dale and Roger Widrig.

At Barbara's request, there will be no public services. A celebration of life will be held at the convenience of the family.
