MAYVILLE- Bert Michael McChesney, 68, of Mayville, died Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Saint Vincent Hospital in Erie PA.

He was born October 10, 1950 in Westfield, NY, the son of the late Ernest and Florence Barger McChesney.

Bert had owned and operated a dairy farm on the Panama-Stedman Road.

He enjoyed fishing, cookouts over a campfire, boat rides, going out for lunches, involvement with the FFA, bird watching, berry picking, his cows, his dog Leo, and time with his family.

Bert is survived by his son; Gregory McChesney of Lakewood, two daughters; Becky (Chris) Kuschel of Brocton, and Sharon McChesney of Jamestown, seven grandchildren, one great grandson, a brother; Carl (Tianna) McChesney of Corry, PA, two sisters; Rae (Carlyle) Tyler, of Marion, SC, and Debbie (Hector) Perez of Jamestown, an aunt; Lucille McChesney, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother; Gail McChesney.

The funeral will be held on Thursday, January 31, 2019 at 11AM at the Freay Funeral Home in Mayville (139 S. Erie St). The Rev. Joshua Ehmke will officiate. Burial will be in the Bemus Point Cemetery.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9PM on Wednesday, January 30 ^th , at the funeral home.
