BROCTON- Bertha L Paddock, 95 of Brocton, passed away on Friday, July 29,2022 at the Absolut Care of Westfield.

She was born July 1, 1927, in the Town of Harmony, Watts Flats, NY at her grandmother's house, the daughter of the late Louis and Myrtle Terry Briggs and wife of the late Donald J. Paddock.

Bertha attended Cassadaga High School.  After raising five children she worked at Better Baked Foods, and Mayville Plastics before becoming a short order cook in the Mayville Diner and Vine City Restaurant in Westfield, retiring in 1973 to help take care of her failing husband. She also belonged to the Mayville Senior Citizens.

She enjoyed crocheting, cooking, baking, playing Skip Bo with friends and playing piano in her earlier years. She was a loving mother and time with her family was most important.

Bertha is survived by two daughters: Donna (Donald) Ranson of Avondale, AZ, and Priscilla (Earnest) Farver of Mayville, NY

, ten grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren, and seven step grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by three sons; Kenneth, Donald and Johnathan Paddock, and three sisters; Helen Kinney, Margaret Schrader, and Betty Gens.

The funeral will be held at 11AM on Wednesday, August 3, 2022, at the Freay Funeral Home in Mayville (139 S. Erie St). The Rev. Sandra Ball will officiate. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Stockton, NY.

Friends will be received from 4-7PM on Tuesday, August 2, 2022, at the funeral home.
