Brian Simpson Murray, 79, of Ashville, New York, passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at Heritage Park in Jamestown, New York.

Brian was born October 2, 1945, in Berea, Ohio to parents Bernard Gunthel Murray and Dorothy Mae (Schroeder) Murray.  Six months later the family moved to Sparta, New Jersey.

Growing up in New Jersey, Brian loved fishing, hunting and nature.  His Grandpa Herb Schroeder played a huge role in his childhood years teaching him these skills.

In 1959, the family moved to Shaker Hts., Ohio and he attended Shaker Hts. Schools.   He moved to Aurora, Ohio in 1964 where he graduated his senior year.  He attended Northwood, Institute in Midland, Michigan.

After college, he began working for Bunce Brothers.  He was adored by his many customers and enjoyed the sales and management responsibilities that he had for 32 years.  He also met his bride Susan there, the love of his life.  They were married in 1978.

Brian adored Susan and his son Matt.  Brian loved fishing, gardening and having roaring fires in the fireplace in the winter.   Matt continues that love for a winter fire with his own family.

In 2016, Brian and Susan retired and they fulfilled their dream of living full-time at their second home on Chautauqua Lake.

Brian is survived by his wife of 47 years, Susan Kendrick Murray; Matthew Bernard Murray and wife Brooke and grandchildren Tucker (8), Preston (6), Brighton (4) and Blythe (4) of Williamsburg, VA.

A lakeside memorial at their home on Chautauqua Lake, NY will be performed at a later date.
