MAYVILLE-Bruce Lowell Brandow, 76, formerly of Mayville, died Saturday, July 14, 2018 at his home in Westfield, with family by his side.

He was born October 13, 1941 in Jamestown, NY, the son of the late Lowell and Lillian Nowell Brandow.

Bruce was a veteran of the United States Air Force, having served in the Vietnam War from 1961 through 1964

In Bruce's early working years, he worked at Crescent Tools and was the owner/operator of Wilson's Cottage Court. Later had owned and operated his own metal refinishing business in Hartfield.

Bruce was a very wise man who enjoyed, hunting, trapping, fishing, trap shooting, snowmobiling, boating, writing, shooting the breeze, and most of all, time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Pantall Brandow, whom he married July 1, 1966, two daughters; Barbara (Mark) Lancaster of Westfield, and Kristine (Gregory) Hunter of Mayville, one son; Eric Erickson of Clayton, NC, five grandchildren; Lindsey and Brooke Bennett, Madeline Lancaster, Forrest and Cameron Hunter, one brother, and two sisters.

Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.

A memorial service will be held at 11AM on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at the Freay Funeral Home in Mayville. The Rev. Daniel Prewitt will officiate.
