Carol "Dottie" Hayward 77 of Lyman, S.C., passed away on March 20, 2015. Born August 30, 1937 to Robert & Mary Peterson. Dottie lived in Westfield most of her life working for 76 Truck stops & Truck stops of America as a restaurant manager. She moved to South Carolina in 1990 where she continued her employment as restaurant manager with TA until her retirement in 2008.

Dottie had a big heart and always tried to help people who were less fortunate than she. Dottie was an avid fan of NASCAR, & the Buffalo Bills. She loved to travel, especially to Disney World. Her hobbies were reading, Stephen King & Ann Rule being her favorite authors, and she was known to play a few scratch off lottery tickets. Her biggest love was her grandchildren & following all the sports they played in school.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her older brother Larry Peterson & infant daughter.

Dottie is survived by her children, Denise Magnes, Kathi(Jim) Paulus, Barry(Cathy) Meleen, Teri(Andy) Lyon, & Craig Hayward. Her grandchildren: Michael Williams, Julie(Leo)Rouse, Aaron(Krysten)Meleen, Brand(Steve)Field, Matthew McKane, Nathan Meleen, Bailey(Eric)Hawley, Katie McKane, Carson Georgia, Jamie Crandall, Breanna Meleen, Lyssa & Adrean Hayward, Amy Meleen, & Asa Hayward. 6 step grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 5 step great grandchildren & many nieces & nephews.

A memorial celebration will be held in July of this year. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials can be sent to Northern Chautauqua Canine Rescue @ 7540 N. Gale St. Westfield, NY 14787
