> WESTFIELD – Carol M. Young, 85, formerly of Mayville and Westfield, died Thursday (November 7, 2013) at Absolute of Dunkirk.

> She was born May 30, 1928 in Jamestown, NY, the daughter of the late Gust W. and Victoria Anderson Gustafson.
>
> Carol was a graduate of Jamestown High School. She had worked for 20 years for the Chautauqua County Finance Office in Mayville, retiring in 1984.
>
> She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Westfield where she was a past Deaconess of the church, AARP, Diana Lodge #114 I.O.V., American Legion Aux. in Highlands County, Florida, and the Westfield Moose Ladies Aux.
>
> Carol enjoyed spending time with her family, wintering in Florida, taking long walks on the New Smyrna Beach, and playing golf.
>
> She is survived by two sons, Martin (Lori) Young of Westfield, and Bruce D. Young of Jamestown; three grandchildren, Amy (Max) Bailey of Cincinnati, OH, Jennifer Young of Fredonia, and James Young of Westfield; two great grandchildren, Bowen and Lorelai Bailey of Cincinnati, OH; one brother in-law, Phil (Linda) Young of Westfield.

> She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. Young, whom she married September 10, 1949 in Jamestown and who died December 14, 2008; two brothers, Robert Gustafson in 1926, and George V. Gustafson in 1947.
>
> The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday in the Freay Funeral Home in Mayville. Rev. Norma Vanderpool will officiate. Burial will be in the Mayville Cemetery.
>
> The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
>
