Westfield—Carolyn M. LaPorte, 86, of Westfield, died unexpectedly on Thursday (April 29, 2021) at her home.

Carolyn was born on February 11, 1935 in Worcester, Massachusetts, the daughter of the late Eugene and Esther (Howard) Reardon.

Carolyn was a homemaker and helped her husband operate their family grape farm, Portage Farms.

She was a member of St. Dominic's Roman Catholic Church in Westfield, the Eastern Stars and the Women of the Moose.

She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, bird watching, traveling, and telling stories. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend.

She is survived by her three children, George "Pat" LaPorte, Jr. of Westfield, Charles (Lucy) LaPorte of Westfield, and Laura (Chris) Gundlach of Westfield; four grandchildren, Sarah McDonald, Nolon LaPorte, Amanda (Jef) Gallagher, and Andrea Gundlach; five great grandchildren; one brother, Howard Reardon of Williamsburg, Virginia; and her beloved dog, Honey.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George P. LaPorte, whom she married on August 14, 1954; one brother Eugene Reardon, Jr.; and two sisters, Shirley Darley and Marion Rednock.

A private funeral service will be held for immediate family only.
