DEWITTVILLE- Catherine "Lena" Anderson, 89, of Jamestown, and formerly of Dewittville, died Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at her home with family by her side.

She was born December 28, 1928 in Glasgow, Scotland, the daughter of the late Daniel and Agnes (Carlin) Hendry.

Lena had owned and operated Croftamie Kennels in Dewittville.

She belonged to the Chautauqua County Humane Society.

Lena enjoyed taking care of and advocating for animals, and most of all, spending time with her family.

She is survived by her daughter; Catherine M. Anderson of Hamilton Ontario, a grandson; Ian J. Lancaster, and several nieces and nephews in Scotland.

Lena was preceded in death by her husband, James G. Anderson, whom she married August 3, 1953 in Glasgow, Scotland, and one sister; Anne Clark.

At Lena's request, there will be no visitation or services observed. Burial will be private in Dewittville Cemetery. Father Todd Remick will officiate.
