MAYVILLE – Cleo I. Rubner, 92, of Mayville, died Saturday (January 24, 2015) at home with family at her side.
She was born November 26, 1922 in Sherman, NY, the daughter of the late Clarence and Elizabeth Meade Robbins.
Cleo was a member of the United Methodist Church of Mayville and the Ruth Circle at church, Ripley Senior Citizens, and the Lake Chautauqua Memorial Post VFW Auxiliary in Mayville.
Cleo enjoyed gardening, and loved her family and friends.
She is survived by two daughters, Sheila (the late Donald) Hammond of Mayville, and Constance (Kip) Olson of Mayville; four grandchildren, Christopher (Shirley) Hammond of Westfield, Timothy (Tracy) Hammond of Mayville, Stephen (Beth) Olson of Mayville, and Amy (Sean) Martin of Erie, PA; 11 great grandchildren; one brother, Edward "Bud" Robbins of Westfield; one sister, Eva Hunt of Jamestown.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick "Fred" F. Rubner whom she married December 21, 1940 in Falconer, NY and who died March 21, 2001; three brothers, Leo Robbins, William Robbins, and Charles Robbins; four sisters, Alice Perdue, Lorriane Rathburn, Ada Tenpas, and Mary Schohl.
A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family at the Freay Funeral Home in Mayville. Rev. Mark Parsons of the Mayville United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Mayville Cemetery.
