WESTFIELD- Cordelia "Cordy" "Babe" (Redeye) Bowen, age 68, of 60 Oak Street, Westfield, New York died peacefully in her sleep on Friday, April 1, 2022.  Cordy was born on November 24, 1953, in Salamanca, New York, the daughter of the late Twila Kenyon and Roger Redeye.  Cordy married her husband of 48 years, John Robert Bowen, July 27, 1974.

Cordy was employed by Twin Fair and Ames Department Stores as a cashier and in the money room.  She worked at the former Mayville Division of Ethan Allen in the Quality Control Department and as the night shift Computer Operator.  She completed her Bachelor Degree at SUNY at Fredonia, New York.  Cordy worked at the Resource Center in Jamestown and Child and Family Services of Chautauqua County for over 20 years as a caseworker.

Cordy was an enrolled member of the Seneca Nation and the Beaver Clan.  She was an active member of the United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, and sang in the choir.  She was a former participant in the local group of the Aglow Women's Ministry.  Before recent health issues prohibited her from doing so, she also volunteered at the Westfield Community Food Pantry.

Cordy loved spending time with her family and going on family outings.  Cordy could be seen on the dance floor with her husband, John during wedding receptions.  She enjoyed reading suspense novels.  They were always on Cordy's Christmas list. Cordy especially loved Christmas. She loved decorating, shopping and watching mushy Christmas movies. On Christmas Day Cordy would sit and smile as she looked around and watched everyone opening their presents.  She also enjoyed the annual "Bowen Sister Cookie Day."  Cordy has a contagious personality and can make people laugh.  She has a way of engaging people in conversation, even complete strangers.  She will be sorely missed by family, friends and at church.

Surviving are her husband, John Robert Bowen, Westfield, NY, two daughters Ja:no's-Janine Bowen, Salamanca, NY, Dawn Bowen, Westfield, NY; two sisters Sandra Kenyon, Jimersontown, NY and Norma Kenyon, Jimersontown, NY, a half-sister, Pauline John of Salamanca, NY and one half-brother, Tom Redeye of Steamburg, NY, three cousins raised as sisters, Renae Halftown, Steamburg, NY, Staphanee Halftown, Irving, NY, and Elana Halftown, Irving, NY; three grandchildren Braiden McElhaney, Fredonia, NY, Brianna Bowen, Westfield, NY, and Gahseni'de' Hubbell, Salamanca, NY and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by one sister Donna Kenyon.

Funeral services will be held at the Westfield United Methodist Church 101 E. Main St., Westfield, NY 14787 at 11 AM on Friday, April 8, 2022. The Rev. John Bowen of the Magnolia and Ashville UMC's, Rev. David Herr of the Westfield Lighthouse Christian Fellowship Church and Rev Nicholas Perry of the Westfield UMC will officiate. A reception will follow the funeral in the church fellowship hall where refreshments will be provided.

Burial will be in Westfield Cemetery, Westfield, New York.
