Dana Michele Jacobson Otteman, 67, of League City, Tx formerly of Mayville, New York passed away on Monday, July 10, 2023, while visiting her family in Mayville, N.Y.

Dana was known for her steadfast love of her children, grandchildren, and all her family. She cherished every minute she spent with them. When she was around, her laughter was infectious, and you could hear her enjoyment and mischievousness in it from one end of a room or house to the other side.  She was a wonderful cook and could make a delicious meal out of any ingredients she had on hand at any given moment and always made enough to share with the neighborhood. Dana loved the Lord and had great faith in leaning on Him in hard times. She would retreat at times but mainly to not burden others with her pain. She didn't complain about her ailments but would persevere in silence and with a smile on her face.

Social media was a way for her to stay connected with all her family, including her nieces and nephews. She would like and comment on all their posts just to let them know she cared. She loved to dance, and boy did she, she also loved all animals. Dana was a true flower child at heart and loved with everything she had. She would have given you the shirt off her back if you needed it. Dana was a mom to so many different kids over the years and her house was always the "fun" house to go to during the summers or anytime you needed a meal or a hug.

Dana loved all things Dory from Finding Nemo. We would laugh and joke with her about how fast she would forget things, like Dory. We would tell her, "Just keep swimming", whenever she needed a boost, or when we needed to hear it from her.  Dana was full of life and was able to spend her last days in laughter and love surrounded by her family. We will miss the burning glow of her heart but will cherish the memories of her joy and laughter.

She was our mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend and she will be missed. Dana is survived by her three children, Kellie Michele, Kenyon Brett (Sandy), and Erik Gordon; 4 grandchildren, Jazmine, Ella, Weston, and Abigail, her siblings, Brenda Jacobson, Sonia Luszcak, Tina Nuss (Bill), Lori Foster, Cassie Salva (Greg), Blake Jacobson, and Cam Jacobson (Maria), sisters-in-law, Elizabeth, Marilyn, and Myrtis; many nieces and nephews; and her grand-dogs Allie, Lady Bird, Milo, and Oliver the cat; She was preceded in death by her parents Gordon and Phyllis Jacobson, and her sister Shelley, and her grand-dog Thor.

There will be a celebration of her life for family and friends from 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M., on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at Runge Park (Runge Community Center,
