BUFFALO- Daniel R. Anderson Jr., 62, of Buffalo and formerly of Jamestown, passed away Sunday, May 10, 2020 at ECMC in Buffalo.

He was born December 19, 1957 in Rochester, NY the son of Jeanne Carlson Allison and the late Daniel R. Anderson Sr.

Dan was a 1976 graduate of Jamestown Highschool and also attended Jamestown Community College.

He was a former member of the Hillcrest Baptist Church in Jamestown. He was a talented musician having been a singer and drummer in several popular local rock bands in high school and later several praise bands. Dan did not have to read notes to be able to play back what he heard using any instrument he picked up. He loved his family very much and often looked to his brother in law, Shawn, for advice. Dan thought of Shawn as his brother.

Dan was stricken at an early age with schizophrenia and remained institutionalized for most of his adult life. However, he maintained a sense of humor, a charming smile and his faith in the Lord through everything, and always shared his faith with everyone he came in contact with.

He is survived by his mother; Jeanne Carlson Allison, of Jamestown, a sister; Lori A. (Shawn) Hause, of Jamestown, one niece; Nacole Benson, of Jamestown, a half-brother; Curt (Theresa) Loy, of Virginia, two great nephews; Chase and Cole Benson, of Jamestown, two great nieces; Norah and Isla Loy, of Virginia, an uncle; James Carlson, of Erie, PA, a step-mother; Claire Anderson, of Jamestown, and many cousins.

Dan was preceded in death by his father; Daniel R. Anderson Sr.

A private funeral will be held for the immediate family at the Freay Funeral Home in Mayville. The Rev. Daniel Prewitt will officiate. Burial will be in the Mayville Cemetery.
