MAYVILLE – David B. Gens, 68, of E. Whallon Street, Mayville, died Sunday (December 11, 2016) in Hamot Hospital in Erie, PA.
He was born October 29, 1948 in Westfield, NY, the son of the late Carl H. Gens, Jr. and
Vivian Merriam Gens.
He was a school bus mechanic and driver for Brocton Central School and BOCES Hewes Educational Center in Ashville, NY.
David loved boating, fishing, target shooting and hunting and was a member of the Westfield Moose Lodge 118, The Mayville American Legion, Ripley Rod and Gun Club, and was a life member of the NRA.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Arnold Gens, whom he married June 26, 1999 in Mayville, and three sons; Sean D. (Nenita) Gens of Thailand, Trevor J. (Amanda) Gens of Los Angeles, CA, and Derek T. Gens, and one grandson, Derek Gens Jr; two step children, Deena R. Guthrie of Clearwater, FL and Derek L. Ressler of Westfield; four step granddaughters, Kaleigh, Tiffany, Rachel, and Kali.
David was preceded in death by his parents.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
