SHERMAN – David A. Lindquist, 76, of 4010 Hewes Road, Sherman, died Tuesday (September 3, 2013) at his home.

He was born May 25, 1937 in Jamestown, the son of the late J. Albert Lindquist and Isabelle Proudman Storms.

David was a graduate of Chautauqua Central School in 1956, and was a veteran of the US Air Force.

He owned and operated a dairy farm for 31 years. After retiring in 1999, he had time to enjoy his family, especially his grandchildren, and golfing, fishing, and hunting. Prior to farming he had worked at Kling Furniture in Frewsburg.

He was a former member of farm organizations and had been a member of the Town of Chautauqua Zoning Board of Appeals for several years. He was a forty year member of the North Harmony United Methodist Church where he was Board President among many other positions.

David always had a smile and liked to make others smile and laugh with his good natured teasing.

He is survived by his wife Bonnie Smith Lindquist, whom he married March 5, 1960 in Bear Lake, Pa. Also survived by three children, Tracy (David) Brown of Sherman, Joan (James) Matton of Perkasie, PA, and Janet (Steve) Taylor of Perkasie, Pa.; seven grandchildren, Katrina Brown, Jennifer Brown, Julia Matton, Jadyn Matton, Jace Matton, Jaden Taylor, and Jared Taylor; two brothers, R. Dene (Norene) Lindquist of Kennedy, and Gary Lindquist of Stem, NC.

He was preceded in death by his father, J. Albert Lindquist on July 1, 1977 and his mother, Isabelle Proudman Storms on September 20, 1976.

The funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday in the Freay Funeral Home, Mayville. Pastor John A. Jackson will officiate. Burial will be in the North Harmony Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 12:00 noon Saturday and from 2 to 3 pm Saturday prior to the funeral service.
