MAYVILLE – Donald A. "Donnie" Briggs Jr., 36, of 4275 Potter Road, Mayville, died Monday, September 8, 2014 in St. Vincent's Hospital in Erie, PA.
He was born July 22, 1978 in Westfield, NY, the son of Donald A. and Cynthia Haley Briggs Sr..
Donnie was a welder for Industrial Welding and Fabricating in Celeron.
Donnie was a Life member of North American Hunting and Life member of North American Fishing Club. He was also a member of Lake Chautauqua Memorial Post VFW in Mayville, Westfield Fish and Game Club, and the NRA.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and 4 wheeling.
He is survived by his parents, Donald and Cynthia Briggs Sr. of Mayville; one brother, Robert W. Briggs of Mayville; paternal grandmother, Joanne E. Briggs of Mayville; his two best friends, Jesse (Mary) Briggs of Mayville, Andrew (Shawna) Morton of Mayville; also numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Susan P. Atkinson; maternal step grandfather, William Atkinson; paternal grandfather, George W. "Shorty" Briggs.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday in the Freay Funeral Home in Mayville. Rev. Mark Parsons will officiate. Burial will be in the Magnolia Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 12:00 Noon Thursday at the funeral home.
