WESTFIELD – Donald "Dirt" L. Elder, 64, of 49 Nichols Ave. Westfield, NY, died Wednesday (Oct. 28, 2015) in Absolut at Westfield.

He was born January 20, 1951 in Jamestown the son of Marilyn Anderson Elder and the late William Elder.

He was a graduate of American Motorcycle Institute. Don owned and operated Westside Collison in Westfield and Coachworks Auto Body in Westfield, later he worked for 19 ½ years as a machinist at Ripley Machines and Tool.

He was a former member of Westfield Moose Lodge 118, a former member and past president of A.B.A.T.E. of Southwestern NY Chapter. He was a member of the Westfield Fish and Game Club, and was a member of the NRA.

Don had a long history of donating to St. Jude's Hospital. He enjoyed motorcycle's and old cars.

He is survived by his wife Luanne Johnson Elder, whom he married July 4, 1973 at Hurlbut Community Methodist Church in Chautauqua; one son, Jeremy Elder of Westfield; his mother of Dunkirk; and a sister, Barbara Mele of Westfield.

He was preceded in death by his father; one brother, Ronald Elder; two sisters, Sandra Whitcomb, and Cheryl Krehan.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday (Nov. 14, 2015) in the Freay Funeral Home in Mayville. Rev. Carmen Perry will officiate. Burial will be in the Magnolia Cemetery.
