MAYVILLE – Douglas "Curly" E. Gernatt, 80, of Elm Flat Road, Mayville, died Friday (Nov. 13, 2015) at his home.
He was born May 15, 1935 in North Collins, NY, the son of the late John and Eleanor Trevett Gernatt Jr.
Curly had been a truck driver and a self-employed farmer.
He enjoyed watching the Oakland Raiders, milking cows, his family and helping others.
He is survived by a daughter, Kim Soo Head of Mayville; three sons, Jeffrey, Joseph, and Steven Gernatt; two grandsons Cody (Jenna) Winne of Mayville, and Daniel Gernatt; a great granddaughter, Grace Winne; and 10 siblings.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Janice Bemus Gernatt whom he married September 2, 1966 in North East, PA and who died May 24, 2015; and two brothers.
No services will be held.
