LAMBERTON- Elizabeth (Liz) Horlacher, 103, of Fredonia, died Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at the Lutheran Retirement Home in Jamestown, NY. She had resided at 5069 West Main Road where she was born and had resided her entire life.

Liz was born June 20, 1915, the daughter of the late John Horlacher and Margaret Johanna Joy Weir. She was a graduate of Fredonia High School, class of 1934. In earlier years she had worked at a silk factory in Dunkirk and later at the Red Wing Company in Fredonia, from where she retired.

She enjoyed collecting recipes and cooking for her family, drawing and sketching, gardening, family get togethers, and loved the many pets she had throughout her life.

In addition to her longevity, Liz will be remembered for her genuine concern for her close family members and numerous relatives. Liz remained deeply interested in her family throughout her life and had provided hundreds of pictures, shared memories, and numerous documents that were used in genealogical research of her family and ancestors.

Liz is survived by her sister, Susanna Robbins of Brocton, NY. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brothers; John Horlacher of Brocton, NY, Joseph Horlacher of Jamestown, NY, and her sisters; Marion and Theresa of Fredonia, NY, Catherine Pieper of Hornell, NY, and Margaret Waite, of Elmira, NY.

At her request there will not be a funeral or graveside service. Burial will be in the family plot in the Webster Road Cemetery.

Liz had many pets in her lifetime and requested that any memorials be made to the Chautauqua County Humane Society.
