MAYVILLE- Eugene E. Delcamp, 82, of Mayville, died Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at St. Vincent Hospital in Erie, PA.

He was born January 5, 1937 in Arkwright, NY, the son of the late Leon and Anne Snow Delcamp.

Gene had worked for the New York State Department of Transportation for thirty-seven years as a tree surgeon and snow plow operator.

He enjoyed working around his house, lawn care, wood working, remodeling his home, time on his tractor, his pet dog; Buddy, and most of all, time with his family.

Gene is survived by his wife of 63 years; Donna Eddy Delcamp, whom he married November 11, 1955 in Brocton, NY, his two sons; Mark Delcamp of Falconer, and Daniel (Julie) Delcamp of Mayville, a daughter; Doreen (Kelly) Hammond of Ellery Center, nine grandchildren; Jennifer and Kayla Delcamp, Erik, Toby Hammond, Andriel Moore, David, Jacob, Tyler, and Nicholas Delcamp, sixteen great grandchildren with eight being boys, and eight being girls, one sister; Joan Boice of Erie, PA, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son; David Delcamp, and two brothers; Gordon and Merton Delcamp.

The funeral will be held at 11AM on Friday, August 23, 2019 at the Maranatha Baptist Church in Mayville (43 Academy Street). The Rev. Norman Burdick and Rev. Gary Nutt will officiate. Burial will be in the Portland Evergreen Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5-8PM on Thursday, August 22 at the Freay Funeral Home in Mayville (139 S. Erie St).
