Eva R. Hunt, 90, of Jamestown and formerly of Mayville, died Wednesday (April 29, 2015) at UPMC Hamot Hospital in Erie, PA.
She was born December 25, 1924 in Sherman, NY, the daughter of the late Clarence and Elizabeth Mead Robbins.
Eva had formerly been a bookkeeper in Buffalo; she had also been a server at several local restaurants. She had attended Natalie's School of Art and Design in Rochester for Egg Design and Cut, Eva was well known as a local artist.
She had been a member of St. Mary's Alter and Rosary Society in Mayville before moving to Jamestown, she had been the president of her Home Bureau Club, and was a member of the Mayville Senior Citizens and the Jamestown Senior Citizens, and currently was a member of Holy Apostles Church in Jamestown.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Hunt (Gunnard "Butch") Liliestedt Jr. of Jamestown; four grandchildren, Kimberly (Mark) Baerwaldt of Boston, NY, David (Kimberly) Rowe of Bemus Point, James Liliestedt of West Palm Beach, FL, and Julie Liliestedt of Jamestown; three great grandchildren, Jamie Baerwaldt, Nathan Rowe and Cameron Rowe; and one brother, Edward "Bud" Robbins of Westfield.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy N. "Stub" Hunt whom she married July 26, 1944 in Westfield and who died May 29, 1993; five sisters, Lorraine Rathburn, Alice Perdue, Ada Oridenes Tenpas, Pearl Scholl, and Cleo Rubner; three brothers, Leo Robbins, William Robbins and Charles Robbins.
A Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday in the Freay Funeral Home in Mayville. Burial will be in the Mayville Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Mayville Fire Department Rescue Squad, or to Holy Apostles Church in Jamestown.
