MAYVILLE- Gloria M. McMannis Marshall, 93, died Friday, March 22, 2019 at the Heritage Village Skilled Nursing and Rehab Center in Gerry, NY. Gloria lived most of her life in Penn Hills near Pittsburgh and spent recent years in the care of the loving staff at the Heritage Village Retirement Community in Gerry.

She was born May 16, 1925 in Pittsburgh, PA, the daughter of the late Harry and Anna Christina Moekle McMannis.

Gloria had been a high school majorette, the editor for the high school newspaper and yearbook, participated in her high school musicals, received an art scholarship, was a former Sunday School teacher and had worked as a secretary for Pittsburgh Plate Glass.

She enjoyed reading, collecting antiques, flower gardening, shopping, crafts and painting, tending her bird feeders, feeding everyone's dogs and time with her family. She will be missed.

Gloria is survived by five children; Sandra Davis (Frank) Kent of Amherst, MA, Rev. Tamara (Raymond)Yeager of Pittsburgh, PA, Douglas Marshall of Dewittville, NY, Ronald (Ellen) Marshall of Hingham, MA, and Robert Marshall of Mayville, NY, eleven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; James Marshall, whom she married August 3, 1945 in Pittsburgh, PA, her parents, four sisters; Winifred, Ethel, Olive and Edith, and two brothers; Clyde and Lester, and one great granddaughter; Emmy.

The family will receive friends from 4-7PM on Friday, March 29, 2019 at the Freay Funeral Home in Mayville (139 South Erie Street).

Interment will be in the Mayville Cemetery at 10AM on Saturday, March 30 ^th , and led by her daughter, Rev Tamara Yeager.
