FINDLEY LAKE – Gloria Jean Schomer Moore, 80, of Findley Lake, NY, passed away with family at her side on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at the Corry Manor Assisted Living Facility in Corry, PA following a lengthy illness.

Gloria was born July 3, 1943, and raised on Chicago's southside, one of eight children. She moved east after meeting her husband, Ron, on a chance encounter on the Ohio Turnpike. After raising two children, she graduated nursing school and went to work as a nurse at Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill, PA. She lived to cook and sew as well as eventually becoming an enthusiastic livestock farmer and gardener. She adopted the Cleveland Indians and Browns as a means of keeping the peace in the family.

Following retirement, she and Ron went on several cruises, including the Baltic, Mediterranean, Caribbean, Alaska, and Hawaii. She eventually became a Florida snowbird and enjoyed the winter weather and many friendships and community activities.

Her children include Jean and Chris, Perry Co, PA, 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Siblings included brothers Mike, Peter, and Robert, and sisters Patricia, Mary Beth, Judy, and Susan.

At Gloria's request, there will be no public services observed at this time. A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family and will be announced. At the family's request please consider donating to the National Kidney Fund or to the American Cancer Society.
