Heather M. Frost Sweeney, 60, of Yuma, Arizona passed away on Friday, October 27, 2023. She was born on February 13, 1963, in Westfield, New York. The daughter of Sandra A. Staples of Mayville and the late Raymond C. Frost, who passed away on November 5, 2019.

Heather was a 1981 graduate of Mayville Central School. She was a member of the National Honor Society and a member of the Division III Class D Champion girls basketball team 1980 to 1981. She enlisted in the Marine Corps in August 1981 and served for 4 years. After her honorable discharge, she moved to Yuma, Arizona. She married John D. Sweeney on April 9, 1988, and together they raised his four sons: Daniel (Erica)Sweeney of El Paso, Texas,

Patrick (Jeffery Andrews) Sweeney, of Ogden, Utah, Michael Sweeney (passed away on October 22, 2015), and Steven Sweeney of Yuma, Arizona.

Heather's entire career was as a low voltage specialist with Western Sun Systems, Yuma, Arizona.

Heather is survived by her mother Sandra A. Staples of Mayville, her brother Howard (Linda Baldwin) Frost of Mayville, her sister Tracy (Wayne) Stoughton of Westfield, and Anne (Rob) Haislip of Erie, PA.  Also surviving are several nieces and nephews, 5 grandchildren, and some awesome friends. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Lyle Staples.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Mayville American Legion, on Saturday, November 18, 2023, from 2-4 pm. All are welcome to join family and friends to celebrate Heather.
