MAYVILLE – Helen L. Calhoun, 96, of Mayville, died Thursday (July 28, 2016) at Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing in Jamestown.
She was born February 28, 1920 in Mayville, the daughter of the late John and Ethel Putnam Calhoun.
Helen was a 1940 graduate of Chautauqua Central School, and attended Bryant Stratton College.
During World War II she worked in Buffalo for the War Department, she also worked for the Bureau of Engraving in Washington, DC, following that she was a private duty nurse, and also worked at her parents Drug Store in Mayville.
She is survived by several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Allena C. Wagner who died May 17, 1999.
No services or visitation will be observed, following Helen's wishes.
