MAYVILLE – Helen L. Quick Habersin, 94, of Miami Shores, Florida, formerly of Mayville, died Tuesday (January 5, 2016) at her home in Florida.
She was born July 19, 1921 in Wampsville, NY the daughter of the late Morris Lee and Myra Chase Quick.
Helen went to Jamestown High School, Bryant Business Institute, and Miami-Dade Community College. She was employed as the Office Manager to Dade County School Board, Dade County Public Schools in Miami FL and she was also a Real Estate Broker.
She belonged to the Florida Retired Educators Association, and Pilot International.
She is survived by one son Richard D. Habersin of Miami Shores, FL; one sister, Barbara R.Q. Davison of Marietta, GA; and a brother Morris L. Quick of Aurora, Col.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Julius Habersin whom she married Oct. 21, 1950 in Miami, FL and who died Sept. 24, 1995; one son, Douglas J. Habersin; one sister, Marjorie E. Newstrom; and two brothers, Robert I. Quick and Charles E. Quick.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 am Tuesday (January 12, 2016) at the Freay Funeral Home in Mayville. Rev. Dana Vaughn of the Westfield First Presbyterian Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Chautauqua Cemetery.
