Ilene L. Pugh, 94 of Palm Beach Gardens, FL., formerly of Ripley, N.Y. died peacefully at her home with her family by her side on Friday, May 26, 2023.

Ilene was born October 22,1928 in Diana, West Virginia, daughter of late Wayford Carpenter and Dorothy McCourt Carpenter.

Ilene was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She always loved being around babies and children. She spent many years caring for the little ones of families in Sherman N.Y.

Ilene is survived by her children: Norma Pugh of Mayville, NY., Retha (Jeff) Austin of Ripley, NY., Dee (Chris) Curtis of Palm Beach Gardens, FL., Stepdaughters: Corena (Bob) Metcalf of Chenoa, Ill., Patsie (Jack) Noble of South Lyon, MI., 11 grandchildren: Chris Wills, Delmar (Martha) Pugh, Darlene (Jake) Hitt, Crystal (John) Erhard, Jackie Noble, Tommy Noble, Jammie (Jocelyn) Pugh, Heather (Walter) Kinne, Lucius (Kait) Curtis, Rachael (Mike) Rizzo, Angela Ferguson, 13 Great-grandchildren., Brother: Sonny Carpenter of Webster Springs, W. Va., Sister-in-law Genelda Jones of South Lyon, MI and many nieces and nephews.

Including her parents, Ilene was preceded in death by her husband Eugene E. Pugh. Children: Michael Pugh, Randall Pugh, Terry Wills. Stepson: Carlos Pugh. Grandchildren: Tony Wills, Randy Pugh, Shauna Noble.

Graveside service will be held at 2:30PM on Saturday, June 10, at Quincy Rural Cemetery, 40 Shaver St., Ripley, N.Y. with the assistance of Freay Funeral Home.
