PORTLAND- Irmgard A. Farrar, 97, of Portland, NY, passed away Sunday, September 8, 2024, at her home with family at her side. She was born February 27, 1927, in Frankfurt, Germany, the daughter of the late Hugo and Flora Gerlach Weinbeer.

She is survived by her children, William (Luci) Farrar of Portland, Shirley Yeskey of Portland, Linda (Jim DeAngelo) Coleman of Brocton, Sherry Crowe of Cassadaga, and Debra (John) Swabik of Portland, eighteen grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William, who passed away on February 23, 2000, a sister, Inge, and a son-in-law, Fred Yeskey on September 6, 2006.

She and her husband ran the family farm in Portland for 57 years. As one of Jehovah's Witnesses, for many years, Irmgard enjoyed sharing her hope for the future with others.

A graveside service will be held in the Portland Evergreen Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
