MAYVILLE – Jack F. Schneider, 89, of 9 Spruce Drive, Mayville, died Saturday (April 19, 2014) at his home.

He was born May 12, 1924 in Buffalo, NY the son of the late Jacob and Katherine Kelchlin Schneider.

Jack was a veteran of the US Army having served during WWII.

He had been the plant superintendent at AJ Whall in Brocton.

Jack was a member of the Dewittville-Hartfield United Methodist Church, Peacock Lodge F&AM in Mayville where he was a past master, Jamestown Consistory, The Shriner's and was a member of their marching band, he was a life member of the Westfield VFW.

Jack enjoyed fishing, and he was known for his famous fudge at Christmas time. He was an avid fan of the Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres, most of all he loved his family especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Eva May McDermitt Schneider whom he married January 17, 1943 in Buffalo, NY; two sons, Chuck (Audrey) Schneider of Orchard Park, NY, and Ron (Sharon) Schneider of Mayville; 9 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; one great great grandson; and one brother Robert Schneider of Depew.

He was preceded in death by a son Jack E. Schneider who died July 10, 2005.

The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday (May 3, 2014) in the Dewittville-Hartfield United Methodist Church in Dewittville, NY. Rev. Mark Parsons will officiate.
