WESTFIELD – Jane B. Newton, 90, of 90 Academy St., Westfield, died Tuesday (March 4, 2014) in Absolut at Westfield.
She was born May 28, 1923 in Westfield, the daughter of the late Clarence and Mary Gleason Bell.
Jane and her husband Phillip owned and operated Newton Memorials in Westfield for many years.
Jane loved golfing and was an 11 time Women's Club Champion at Moon Brook Golf Club in Jamestown, and a 27 time Women's Club Champion at Chautauqua Golf Club.
She is survived by four children, Phillip R. Newton JR., William B. Newton, Mary N. Mosher, and David D. Newton; one granddaughter, Allison M. Newton.
She was preceded in death by her husband Phillip R. Newton who died in 1990.
The family will receive friends from 11 am to 1 pm Monday (June 23, 2014) at the Freay Funeral Home in Mayville.
A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
Burial will be in the Westfield Cemetery.
