SHERMAN- Janet E. Priabe Buckman, 86, of Sherman, and formerly of Buffalo, NY, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at UPMC Hamot Hospital in Erie, PA with family at her side.

She was born February 10, 1935 in Buffalo, NY the daughter of the late Fredrick W. and Mary T. Mutka Priabe Sr.

Janet was a 1953 graduate of Riverside high School. She enjoyed shopping, gardening, painting, drawing, crocheting, sewing, and knitting for her many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great great nieces and nephews and great great great nieces and nephews.

She is survived by three great nieces; Noelle (Gary) Lindner of East Otto, NY, Christy (James) Grabka of Niagara Falls, NY, and  Amanda (Todd) Heinle of Wheatfield, NY, one great nephew; Norman (Valerie) Berner of Niagara Falls, NY, one god daughter; Janet (Kevin) Gorman-Hyla of Ransomville, NY five great great nieces and nephews and five great great great nieces and nephews.

Janet was preceded in death by her husband; Frank S. Buckman, whom she married January 16, 1960 in Buffalo, NY, two sisters; Marie Corcoran and Ann Crosby, three brothers; Frank Solomon, Edward Soloman and Fredrick Priabe Jr, and one niece; Donna Burner.

The funeral will be held at 2PM on Friday, May 28, 2021 at the Freay Funeral Home in Mayville (139 S. Erie St). The Rev. Daniel Prewitt will officiate. Burial will be in the Mayville Cemetery.

The family will receive friends for two hours prior to the funeral (12 noon to 2PM) at the funeral home.
