DEWITTVILLE- Janet Eileen Davis, 58, of Amherst, NY and formerly of Dewittville, passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at Millard Filmore Hospital in Williamsville, NY.

She was born August 29, 1961 in Olean, NY. She attended the former Chautauqua and Mayville Central Schools as well as college coursework at Buffalo State College.

Janet had been self-employed in home health care and in home cleaning. She loved animals and volunteered for several rescue shelters. She fostered many dogs and always had cats. Janet also enjoyed the lake, being in the outdoors, hiking, and horseback riding with her old horse, 'Black Jack".

She is survived by her mother, Barbara J. Dorman Davis, two brothers; Jeff (Patricia) Davis of Mechanicsburg, PA, Bruce (Barbara) Davis of Mayville, one sister; Julie (Donald) Fleck of St Ignatius, MT, a special friend; Carolyn Wessner of Amherst, and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Janet was preceded in death by her father; James W. Davis.

A private graveside service in Dewittville cemetery will take place at the convenience of the family with a celebration of life at a later date.

The family suggests memorial contributions can be made to an animal shelter of choice.
