DEWITTVILLE- Janet (Jan) Marie Hansen, 85, of Dewittville, died Tuesday, December 20 ^th, 2022. She was born July 4 ^th , 1937, in Jamestown New York. Jan was the daughter of Henry D. Kane and Mabel T. Kane. She was an area resident her whole life and is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, James G. Hansen.

Jan was a loving wife and mother, she loved her family dearly, she would never leave without saying "I love you". Jan assisted her husband with his business, and also raised her five children as well. In addition, she also retained a private pilot license. Jan is missed beyond words and will never ever be forgotten.

Jan was the most talented cook and she could pull together and entertain a gathering of people with the greatest of ease and such grace. Everyone loved her dearly. She enjoyed her community and life as she and her husband are Chautauqua Lake residents.  In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by her son, James Hansen, a brother, Dwayne Kane and a sister, Betty Triscari.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children; Juline (Bruce) Battler, Jane Morton, Jeffrey (Deborah) Hansen, and Jason (Cherie) Hansen, her grandchildren; Travis Hansen, Tyler Hansen, Brittany Hansen, Luke Hansen, Emily Raynor, Elizabeth Tampton, Molly Hanft, Natalie Kress, Sonja Benchley, Heather Brock, Christopher Morton, and their families, thirteen great-grandchildren with one more on the way, and a sister, Mary (David) Chase.

A private funeral will be held at the Freay Funeral Home at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in the Mayville Cemetery.
