BEMUS POINT- Janice S. Galloway, 86, of Bemus Point, died Sunday, June 9, 2019 at her home.

She was born April 25, 1933 in Bemus Point, the daughter of the late Leslie and Marjorie Beightol Shepardson.

Janice was a graduate of Bemus Point Central School and had attended Alfred State College. She had been a bank teller for Chase Bank in Bemus Point and in earlier years worked for Jamestown Phone Company and was a partner with her sister Jeanette at J's Yankee Peddler.

She was a member of the Bemus Point Study Club, the Bemus Point Historical Society and the Bemus Point United Methodist Church.

Janice was an avid golfer, and reader. She also enjoyed baking, gardening, being outdoors, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband; Richard P. Galloway, whom she married October 14, 2000, three children;, Margie (John) Weise of Mayville, NY, Daniel W. (Rhonda) Lipsey of Vine Grove, KY and Amy Rothwell of Nevada, two step daughters; Michelle (Ken) Harris of VA, and Allison Galloway of VA, six grandchildren; Bridget (Cody) Shevlin, Brittany (John) Stow, Jerimie Rothwell, Joshua (Taylor) Lipsey, Christopher Lipsey, Josh (Jenna) Witten, and Jeremy (Laura) Witten, three step grandchildren; Branden and Lauren Newcomb, and Timothy (Delilah) Nicholson, twelve great grandchildren, a sister; Joyce Wight, and a brother; Richard Shepardson.

Janice was preceded in death by her first husband; William L. Lipsey, her parents, and a sister; Jeanette Arnold.

A memorial service will be held at 11AM on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at the Bemus Point United Methodist Church (4954 Bemus-Ellery Rd). Mike Quimby and the Rev. Bill Allen will officiate. Burial will be in the Bemus Point Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4-7PM on Friday, June 14 at the Freay Funeral Home in Mayville.
