JAMESTOWN- Jeanne Carlson Allison, 89, of Jamestown, NY passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at the Lutheran Home and Retirement Center in Jamestown, NY.

She was born March 23, 1934, in Westfield, NY, the daughter of the late Theodore and Frances Gleason Carlson.

Jeanne was a 1951 graduate of Mayville Central School. While in high school Jeanne was a cheerleader and a member of the band and chorus and was the senior prom queen. In addition, while in high school, Jeanne was also crowned the Chautauqua County Cherry Blossom Queen. After graduating she worked for over thirty years as a sales clerk for Days Stationary in Jamestown, NY, and had also been a part-time waitress at Ramsey's restaurant in Greenhurst.

As a result of her son's lifelong battle with schizophrenia, she became an advocate for the mentally ill and was appointed to the Governor's Board of Visitors for the mentally ill where she served for fifteen years as a representative of the Buffalo Psychiatric Center (BPC). She was also a member of the Jamestown Vikings.

Jeanne faithfully made her weekly Saturday trip from Jamestown to visit her son at Buffalo Psychiatric Center (BPC) for over forty years. Anyone who knew Jeanne well, knew not to call her between 12:30 and 1:30 PM, Monday through Friday as she was faithfully watching the Young and the Restless. She also loved flowers and looked forward to receiving them from her friend and neighbor, Andrea, while living at the Lutheran Home.

She is survived by her daughter; Lori (Shawn) Hause of Jamestown, NY, a granddaughter; Nacole Smith Benson of Jamestown, two great-grandsons; Chase and Cole Benson, a brother; James (Linda) Carlson of Erie, PA, two nieces and a nephew and a very close friend; Joanne Noon of Bemus Point.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her

son; Daniel Anderson, and her longtime partner of thirty plus years; Robert Carlson, AKA "Rotten Robert".

The funeral will be held at 1 PM on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at the Freay Funeral Home in Mayville. The Rev. Laura Csellak will officiate. Burial will be in the Mayville Cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service (12 Noon to 1PM), at the funeral home.
