MAYVILLE, NY- Joan Marie Morello Freeman Walsh 73, of Mayville New York, went home to be with her heavenly father on Thursday November 28, 2019 following complications after a surgery.

She leaves three sons and a daughter, David Allen Freeman Jr. (Mayville), Daryl Kent Freeman (Sherman), Dawn Marie Freeman (Jamestown), and Christopher Walsh (Buf.), a brother and two sisters Lee Edward Hunt (Buf.), Coralyn Hawthorne (PA.) Sally Bird (Mayville), eight

grandchildren William (Tenn.), Dakota (WI.) Daryl Jr (Tenn.), Joshua and wife Kaeli, Isaac, Thomas III Baxter (all of Jamestown), David Freeman III (Jamestown), Noah Freeman (Tenn.), and four great grandchildren Lily Baxter, David McLaughlin III, Jackson Freeman and Isabella Freeman.

She was proceeded in death by her daughter Dana Raye Freeman, her husband William R. Walsh, and her granddaughter Dana Marie Freeman, as well as her parents Sarah Shoemaker Hunt Freeman and Lee Lloyd Hunt, her brother Lloyd Allen Hunt.

Born in Stockton, New York September 28, 1946 at home .Joan attended Mayville Central School and Jamestown Community College where she was studding to be a Drug and rehab counselor. Joan also worked as a Home health aide and was always eager to help any that had need.

Long known for her positive outlook on life, and her great sense of humor, Joan was a very proud crazy ole cat lady, she was a fabulous seamstress and made many garments for all that she loved. She had a love for all music and the beautiful melodies could always be heard in her home. Joan volunteered at the Mayville thrift shop for many years. Joan is also a life time member of the Ladies VFW axillary and could been seen many Friday evenings helping with the fish fry.  Joan she was an adoptive mother and grandmother to many.

A Memorial service will be held to rejoice in her beautiful life Monday December 9, 2019 at 7PM at Freays Funeral Home in Mayville New York. The family will receive friends from 4-7PM before the service at the funeral home.  Following her service, a gathering will be had at the Mayville Legion.

Memorials can be made in her honor to the Chautauqua County Humane Society Strunk Road Jamestown New York.
