CASSADAGA- Joann Fiebelkorn McChesney, 81, of Cassadaga, NY, passed away on Monday, July 14, 2025, at Brooks Memorial Hospital in Dunkirk, NY. She was born June 7, 1944, in Jamestown, NY, the daughter of the late Donald and Gladys Bova Fiebelkorn.

Joann had attended Jamestown High School. She had taken pride in maintaining her yard and enjoyed her flower gardens as well as watching the hummingbirds and the companionship of her dog, Teddy.

Joann is survived by her five children, Michele Hosier of Glasgow, KY, Stephen (Jennifer) McElwain of Dothan, AL, Mark (Monna Kay) McElwain of Catoosa, OK, Betsy (Robert) Barr of Glasgow, KY, and  Emily Groce of Glasgow, KY, ten grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, two sisters, Susan (James) Lander of Jamestown, NY, and Doris (Rodney) Vik of Edinboro, PA and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gail McChesney, whom she married March 12, 1983, a brother, John Fiebelkorn, and two grandchildren.

A funeral for Joann will be held at 2 PM on Monday, July 21, 2025, at the Freay Funeral Home in Mayville, NY (139 S Erie St). The family will receive friends for two hours before the service (12- 2 PM), also at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Bemus Point Cemetery.
