BEMUS POINT- Joseph Edmon Kaluza, 83, of Bemus Point, died Thursday, April 4, 2019 at the Lutheran Home and Rehabilitation Center in Jamestown, NY.

He was born May 21, 1935 in Bemus Point, the son of the late Frank and Frances Ulyon Kaluza.

Joe had worked for the Town of Ellery as an Equipment Operator.

He was a life member of the Maple Springs Fire Department and Fire District as a Commissioner, belonged to the NRA, and belonged to Our Lady of Lourdes RC Church in Bemus Point.

He loved the outdoors and enjoyed living the country life, raising his beef cattle, and was an avid hunter.

Joe is survived by his wife; Dorothy Higgs Kaluza, whom he married February 11, 1956 in Bemus Point, one sister; Lillian Kaluza of Raleigh, NC and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother; Frank Kaluza, four sisters; Zella Wilson, Jennie Federko, Maggie VanOrd, and Eveline Lawrence.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM on Monday, April 8, 2019 at Our Lady of Lourdes RC Church in Bemus Point, NY (41 Main Street, Bemus Point, NY). FH Todd Remick will officiate. Burial will be in the Bemus Point Cemetery.

Friends will be received from 2-5PM on Sunday, April 7, at the Freay Funeral Home in Mayville (139 S Erie St).
