MAYVILLE- Joseph Quinn Zatyko, 21, of Mayville, and formerly of Crofton, MD, passed away on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 in the Town of Ellery as the result of an automobile accident.

He was born June 10, 1999 in Montgomery, AL, the son of Kenneth Zatyko and Caroline Finkele Zatyko.

Joe was a 2017 graduate of Arundel High School. He belonged to the Boy Scouts of America Troop 755 where he proudly earned the honor of Eagle Scout and was known for being a good teacher for the younger scouts.  Joe was also a Semi Professional Gamer, running and playing in tournaments with his specialty game being Super Smash Brothers. He most recently worked as a Food Service Assistant for UPMC Chautauqua Hospital in Jamestown, NY.

He was a very kind person with a great sense of humor. He enjoyed camping, hiking, downhill skiing, running, YouTube, ice cream, his two dogs: Sandy and Gimli, and spending time with friends and family.

Joe is survived by his parents, Kenneth Zatyko of Bemus Point, NY and Caroline Finkele Zatyko of Mayville; one brother, Zachary Zatyko of Crofton, MD; his maternal grandparents Yvette and Bill Finkele of Naples, FL, and Wellsboro, PA; Aunt Suzie and Uncle Doug Meyer of Woodbridge, VA, and two cousins; Savana and Mitchell Meyer of Woodbridge, VA. Uncle Jack and Aunt Jill Zatyko and devoted Aunt Judy Zatyko.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents; John and Mary Zatyko.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 10AM on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at the Our Lady of Lourdes RC Church in Bemus Point (42 Main Street, Bemus Point, NY 14712). Fr. Todd Remick will be the Celebrant. Social distancing will be observed, and face masks must be worn in the church.
