DEWITTVILLE- Kathaleen M. Matthews, 66, of Gerry, NY, and formerly of Dewittville and Portland, NY passed away on Monday, January 9, 2023, at the Heritage Village Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility in Gerry, NY following a lengthy battle with Dementia.

She was born March 11, 1956, in Canastota, NY, the daughter of the late Harold and Eva Mae Kimble.

Kathaleeen was a graduate of Fredonia High School. She then earned her Registered Nursing degree from Jamestown Community College and worked as an RN for the NYS Department of Corrections at the Lakeview Shock Incarceration Correctional Facility in Brocton, NY, the Waters of Westfield Nursing Home in Westfield, NY, Chautauqua County Hospice and Palliative Care, and Lakeshore Hospital in Silver Creek, NY.

She enjoyed gardening, watching live music, Elvis, gambling in Irving, NY, and traveling, having visited Las Vegas, Alaska, Biloxi, and Graceland.

Kathaleen is survived by a son; Gary (Stacy Warner) Matthews Jr. of Dewittville, NY, a daughter; Michelle Kuzawski of Virginia Beach, VA, a brother-in-law; Michael Felsman of Portland, NY, a niece; Nicole (Robert) Buckler of Brocton, NY, great nephew; Cody Arnold, great nieces; Emma Arnold and Bea Buckler. As well as several other nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; Gary Matthews Sr, whom she married on June 26, 1981, and a sister; Linda Felsman.

At Kathaleen's request, there will be no services observed. A private graveside service will be held at the Oswego Town Rural Cemetery in Oswego, NY at the convenience of the family.
