MAYVILLE- Kenneth Richard Murphy, 82, of Mayville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at his home with family at his side.

He was born May 13, 1939 in Dunkirk, NY the son of the late Emmitt A. and Wilhelmina Genske Murphy.

Ken proudly served his country for twenty years in the United States Navy as a Radio Operator, retiring in 1976. He then returned to western New York, settling in Mayville, and worked twenty years for Mogan David Wine Corporation in Westfield.

He was a member of the Westfield VFW Post 6764, the William L. Travis Mayville American Legion Post 493, and a past member and Commander of the Mayville VFW Post 8647.

Ken is survived by his five children; Donald Cornell of O'fallon, IL, Kenneth Richard (Robin) Murphy Jr. of Greencastle, PA, Timothy (Tammi) Murphy of Portsmouth, VA, Shawn (Ellen) Murphy of Courtland, VA, and Kelly (Javier) Angarita of Fayetteville, NC, nine grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and one sister: Carol Bomasuto of Dunkirk, NY.

In addition to Ken's parents he was preceded in death by his wife; Patricia (Mama Pat) Loup Murphy, whom he married May 20, 1960 in Brocton, NY, two sisters, and one brother.

A celebration of life will be held from 2-4PM on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at the Mayville American Legion (144 S. Erie St). A graveside service with full military honors in Arlington National Cemetery will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
