MAYVILLE- Laura Jean Parment, 81, of Mayville passed away unexpectedly on November 2, 2021 at St Vincent Hospital in Erie, PA. She was born December 16, 1939 in the town of Portland, NY. Daughter of the late Woodrow and Ada Rudd Wadsworth.

Laura graduated from Mayville Central School in 1959. She had worked at Barmon Brothers Sewing Co. in Westfield, NY.

She married her high school sweetheart, Robert E. Parment in Ripley, NY on July 2, 1966. Robert passed away in February of 1996.

Laura was companion to the late Donald (Woody) Woods Sr. for eighteen years. Don passed away in 2014.

She is survived by a son; Robert Parment and wife Michele of Mayville, NY, grandson Justin of Gerry, NY, granddaughter Jessica of Gerry, NY, one great granddaughter; Laura Lynn of Gerry, NY, two sisters; Shirley (late John) Kolpien of Westfield, NY and Nancy (Dick) Shaver of Bemus Point, NY and their families.

Preceded in death by her parents; Woodrow and Ada Wadsworth, husband Robert, two brothers; Woodrow Robert Wadsworth and William James Wadsworth, and companion; Donald Woods Sr.

She was a member of the Hartfield Volunteer Fire Auxiliary since 1981, a member of the Hartfield Volunteer Fire Company since 1983, the fire police, 5WAVF Fire and Auxiliary, Fire Association of NY State, Fire Police Association, Brocton John W. Dill Post 434 American Legion Auxiliary, Mayville Senior Citizens, Chautauqua County Election Inspector, GWRRA Chapter U Motorcycle Club, the 59ers and the Portland Congregational Church.

Laura like to do Barbeques, crafts, sew, ride motorcycles, and help others. She was called the "Mutual Aider" who helped Mayville, Portland, Brocton and Westfield Fire Company's. She also liked to travel having gone on two cruises to Aruba, South America, Panama Canal, Costa Rica, and Mexico, and rode a motorcycle across the country to California.

The funeral will be held at 11AM on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at the Freay Funeral Home in Mayville (139 South Erie Street). The Rev. Joshua Ehmke will officiate. Burial will be in the Mayville Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday, November 12 from 2-4 and 7-9PM at the funeral Home. A Fire Fighters Service will be held at 8:30PM on Friday night at visitation.
