MAYVILLE- Lawrence "Larry" V. McKane, 83, of Mayville, passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2022, at his home with family at his side following a lengthy illness.

He was born October 30, 1938, in Dunkirk, NY, the son of the late William V. and Mildred Wiley McKane. Larry was a 1957 graduate of Mayville Central School. He then worked for the Milk Plant in Mayville, and as a mechanic for Raynor Chrysler Plymouth in Westfield before opening his own mechanic shop in Mayville: Larry's ARCO.

Larry was a member of the Westfield Moose Lodge and the Antique Radio Association as he enjoyed restoring antique radios. He was an avid bowler, and enjoyed collecting stamps, attending auctions, studying history, reading war books, and having his morning coffee with the guys (He had his own seat at the Mayville Diner). Most of all he loved spending time with his family and his dog Patch's.

He is survived by his loving wife; Betty Lou Lupean McKane, whom he married September 2, 1957, three children; Cynthia McKane Summerford of Mayville, Dean (Dawna) McKane of Hartfield, and John (Debbie) McKane of Mayville, seventeen grandchildren; Christina McKane, Megan Gustafson Sawyer, Jonathan (Amanda) McKane, Leslie Ann (Zach) Stephenson, Amanda McKane, Mac McKane, Kasey (Russ) Brown, Margaret McKane, Danielle, McKane, Adam (Jessica) McKane, Dean McKane, Brie McKane, Shylee Summerford, Drake McKane, Dylan Hubbell, Derek Hubbell, and Logan (Travis) Hansen, eleven greatgrandchildren; Victoria McKane, Kennedy Johnson, Sky McKane, Kimber and Lilly Entry, Finnigan McKane, Nova and Jacob Sawyer, Addie and Carter Stephenson, and Simone Olive, several great great grandchildren, two brothers; Mark (Janice) McKane and Dennis (Sharon) McKane,  and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son; Lawrence "Larry" V. McKane Jr., and a brother; Gary McKane.

At Larry's request there will be no public services observed. A celebration of life will be held from 1-5PM on Saturday, July 30, 2022, at the Mayville American Legion Post 493 (144 S. Erie St. Mayville, NY 14757).
