CLYMER- Leslie "Butch" Leroy Michalski, 80, of Clymer, NY and formerly of Danielson, CT, passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at St Vincent Hospital in Erie, PA. He was born June 14, 1944, in Dunkirk, NY, the son of the late Fredrick J and Helen Jones Michalski.

Butch had attended Dunkirk Schools. He then worked as a Diesel Mechanic and Fabricator for Polar White in Erie, PA, and Erie Diesel, and later as a black topper for McCormick Construction in Erie, PA. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ in Corry, PA. In earlier years he enjoyed building race cars, deep-sea fishing and was a great storyteller. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Butch is survived by his loving wife, Margaret "Peggy" Jones Michalski, whom he married July 30, 1964, three children, Bud (Sherry) Michalski of Clymer, NY, Michelle (Bryan) Moreash of Clymer, NY, and Fritz (Kristen) Michalski of Lake City, PA, fourteen grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, one brother, Robert Michalski of Grand Bay, AL, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Scott Shrubb, two sisters, Alberta Krumberie and Rose Boozel, and three brothers, James, Thomas and Fredrick Michalski.

The funeral will be held at 2PM on Monday, February 3, 2025, at the Freay Funeral Home in Mayville (139 S Erie St). The Rev Terry Crosby will officiate. Friends will be received for two hours prior to the funeral (Noon – 2PM), at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to offset funeral expenses.
