MAYVILLE – Leslie M. Utley, 91,who resided with his grand-daughter and care-giver, Donna Speagle at 89 Morris Street, Mayville, formerly of Altoona, PA, died Friday (September 12, 2014) at home.
He was born January 2, 1923 in Altoona, PA, the son of the late Leslie C. and Amanda Dodson Utley.
Leslie was a veteran of the US Army Air Force during WWII. He had worked for the Conrail Rail Road in Altoona.
He is survived by his children, James (Georgie) Utley Sr., Carolyn Latta, and Eileen Utley; his grandchildren, Marvin (Brooke) Latta Jr., Edward Latta, Lorrie Utley, Joanne (Dennis) Deck, Donna Speagle, Christina Latta, Lucinda (Jeff) Johnson, James (Sheila) Utley Jr., Darlene (Anthony) Scoville, Charlene (Jason) Robinson, and Jesse (Jeni) Utley; 35 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren; his brother Calvin Utley; and his sister, Leela Heidler.
Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother William Utley; three sisters, Beulah Dittsworth, Geraldine Benden, and Eardine Utley; two great-grandchildren, Michael Young, and Jordan Robinson.
The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday in the Freay Funeral Home in Mayville. Rev. Carman Perry of the Hurlbut Memorial United Methodist Church in Chautauqua will officiate.
The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the funeral on Monday at the funeral home.
