DEWITTVILLE- Lynn Louise Cross, 74, of Dewittville, NY, passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at her home after a long battle with cancer.

She was born on July 28, 1947, in Buffalo, NY, the daughter of Raymond and June Busch.

Lynn was a graduate of West Seneca High School and also attended Bryant and Stratton Business School in Buffalo.

In addition to her parents, Lynn was preceded in death by her dear husband Floyd Roger Cross, whom she married on May 10, 1969.

Lynn took great pride in her children and grandchildren.

She served as the bosun of the Sea Lion crew when the ship sailed the waters of Chautauqua Lake. She often remarked that this was the most memorable experience of her life.

A lifelong member of the Girl Scouts, Lynn led her troop with enthusiasm and orchestrated many annual overnight "ship trips" at the Naval Park in Buffalo. She was also an active member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Mayville where she was a past member of the vestry and was the coordinator of the church's prayer shawl ministry.

In addition to sailing, Lynn enjoyed reading, trains, and summer weekends at Mud Lake.

Lynn is survived by her beloved children Lance R. Cross (Kim) of Atlanta and Heidi M. Martin (Matt Wilson) of Dewittville; as well as cherished grandchildren Andrea and Rion Martin; Jordan Steward; and Kamryn and Kenadie Wilson. She is also survived by her sister Laurie (John) Wozniak of Simpsonville, SC (formerly W. Seneca, NY), and her sister-in-law Sharon Markham of Westfield, as well as nieces and nephews. Lynn will also be deeply missed by her church family, many friends, and her faithful canine companion Dooley.

The funeral will be held at 11AM on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at St Paul's Episcopal Church in Mayville (99 S. Erie St). Fr Richard Elberfeld will officiate. Burial will be in the Mayville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9PM on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at the Freay Funeral Home in Mayville (139 S. Erie St).
