MAYVILLE- Margaret E. “Mikki” Young, 88, of Mayville, NY, and formerly of Clifton,

WV, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, October 5, 2026, following a brief illness. She was born on September 16, 1938, in Point Pleasant, WV, the daughter of the late Hartley and Margaret Kinder Halley.

Mikki had worked as an Elementary School Teacher for the Mason County School District in New Haven, WV. She was a life member of the Ellery VFW, a life member of the War Veterans Recreation in Fluvanna, NY, and was a 30-year rescue squad volunteer in Mason County, WV. She enjoyed attending her church in West Virginia, shopping, and spending time with family.

Mikki is survived by three children, Harold (Ingrid) Norton of Mayville, NY, Ricky (Bobbi) Young of Sherman, NY, and Rhonda Mulkins of Mayville, NY, a daughter-in-law, Betty Young of Clifton, WV, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon A. Young, a son, Gordon F. Young, a son-in-law, Kenneth Mulkins, seven siblings, Richard, Mary Lou, June, Helen, Wanda, Jimmy and Janet.

There will be no public services. Memorial donations can be made to Chautauqua Hospice and Palliative Care (20 W. Fairmount Ave, Lakewood, NY, 14750).
